Canadian English Dictionary
The Canadian English Dictionary is a project being developed by the Society for Canadian English, a not-for-profit consortium including Editors Canada, the Canadian Word Centre at UBC and the Strathy Language Unit at Queen’s University.
It will be a general dictionary for contemporary Canadian English-speakers, reflecting all the different ways in which our language is written and spoken across the country. It will be published progressively in digital form beginning in 2025, and when the digital edition is initially complete, there will be a print edition.
Funding for the project will come from a variety of sources, including donations, grants, sales, licensing and subscriptions.
